About The Scholarship Workshop

Helping Students Get Money for College

The Scholarship Workshop LLC helps students, parents, counselors, and youth leaders learn how to find and win scholarships. Founded in 1991 by Marianne Ragins, author of the highly successful Winning Scholarships for College and winner of more than $400,000 in scholarships, our mission is to make college more affordable through practical scholarship coaching, educational resources, webinars, and motivational speaking. We believe students do better when they have clear guidance, useful tools, and encouragement. That is why we share scholarship strategies, college and scholarship planning tips, and student success resources that help students and parents understand how to find and win scholarships.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: help students get money for college.

We provide practical guidance and scholarship resources that help students understand the scholarship timeline and move through the scholarship process with more confidence. From finding scholarship opportunities that fit their circumstances and goals, to writing stronger essays that show impact, to meeting scholarship deadlines with less stress, we want to make the scholarship journey easier and more successful.

The Scholarship Workshop and our resources serve:

  • High school students searching for scholarships, merit scholarships, and money for college.
  • Youth organizations that promote student success, leadership, college readiness, and career readiness.
  • Middle-class families and higher-income households seeking scholarships without financial need and strategies to reduce college costs.
  • Parents who want to pay less for college, reduce student loan debt, and protect family savings and retirement accounts.
  • Advisors, counselors, educators, and mentors helping students navigate scholarships, financial aid, and college planning.
  • College students, transfer students, adult learners, and nontraditional students pursuing scholarships, grants, and additional funding.
  • Graduate students exploring scholarships, fellowships, grants, and graduate school funding.
  • Students who do not have perfect grades, top test scores, or standout athletic ability but still want to find scholarships and reduce college costs.

Marianne Ragins won more than $400,000 in scholarships as a high school senior and became one of the nation’s most recognized scholarship winners. Her daughter later earned more than $622,000 in scholarships, and her son began winning scholarships at age 16. Before even starting his senior year of high school, he had already received more than $528,000 in scholarship and merit aid offers. Together, the family has earned and been offered more than $1.5 million in scholarships and merit aid. Beyond her family’s success, Marianne has helped thousands of students win millions of dollars in scholarships through her books, workshops, classes, and educational resources. If you are a parent, counselor, educator, mentor, or college access professional, please feel free to share these resources with students who may benefit. The students who start preparing during the summer are often the students who have the most opportunities available when application season arrives.
