Asking for More Financial Aid in Your Award Package

If you’ve been accepted to your dream school and the financial aid you’ve been offered is not enough for you to attend, what can you or your parents do? 
 
After reviewing a financial aid award package from a school you are really interested in, you can appeal the decision or ask for a professional judgment review if the aid is not enough. In your appeal, make sure to include any extenuating circumstances such as another sibling or a parent currently in college, reduced family income, disability, divorce, or any other factor that may be affecting your circumstances and your ability to afford the tuition and related costs of attendance. 
 
Another reason to request a review would be if the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic has caused a change in your family’s finances and savings. If you or your parents have suffered a job loss, a reduction in income, or another issue affecting your ability to pay for college specifically related to the pandemic, consider asking for a review of your financial aid package from your intended college or university.

Upcoming Scholarship Deadlines
 
FOR CURRENT COLLEGE,  high school and younger STUDENTS (elementary and middle)
Deadline: April 24, 2020
Open to current college students
Deadline: April 30
Open to high school seniors, students with GED diplomas, undergraduate (2yr or 4yr) college students, and students at vocational or trade schools who are 25 years of age or younger.
Deadline: April 15
Open to students age 8 to 18.
Deadline: May 16 
Up to $1000 for high school seniors and current college students. Funds can also be used by international students and for study abroad.
Deadline: June 5
Up to $5000 available to high school seniors and current college students.
