Strategies from Marianne Ragins, $400,000 Scholarship Winner

Learn early steps to accumulate and manage money as a student including
how you can earn scholarships as young as age 6 to pay for your dream college or university.

Marianne Ragins, $400,000 scholarship winner and author of Winning Scholarships for College and Senior Year Head Start will help students of all ages, including middle school and high school students, understand how to manage money. Marianne will discuss savings, credit cards, budgeting, identifying needs versus wants, simple investing tactics, and ways to tackle college costs early. Parents are encouraged to attend with their students.

Marianne Ragins, the virtual workshop leader, has used SIMPLE savings and investment strategies since she was a teen. Her strategies helped her avoid student loan debt, large credit card balances, and other drains on income. Her scholarships for college also totaled over $417,000. Her daughter has now been offered college scholarships totaling over $476,000 and a young man who attended several of her workshops over the years recently won one of the scholarships Marianne offers and he also won an additional $12,000 in scholarships and 2 FULL RIDE offers.

For parents or adults registering, make sure to register yourself AND add your student as a member of your household. Your student must meet the age requirements between 13 and 18.

Although parents or adults can view the session with your student, you cannot register for the session without registering your student who meets the age requirement as part of your household.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER, MARIANNE RAGINS

In Marianne Ragins senior year of high school, she won over $400,000 in scholarships for college. As perhaps the first student ever to amass nearly half a million dollars in scholarship money, she has been featured in many publications including USA Today, People, Newsweek, Money, Essence and on the cover of Parade. She has also made hundreds of radio and television appearances on shows such as “Good Morning America,” “The Home Show,” and the “Mike & Maty Show.”

Ragins is the author of the highly successful Winning Scholarships for College: An Insider’s Guide, College Survival & Success Skills 101, and other publications. She is the president of The Scholarship Workshop and sponsor of the Leading the Future II and Ragins Braswell National Scholarships. Ragins is an experienced motivational speaker and lecturer who has traveled nationally and internationally conducting The Scholarship Workshop presentation and giving other motivational seminars and speeches.

Marianne graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from Florida A&M University and received an MBA from George Washington University. Both her degrees were entirely funded by scholarships and other free aid. Marianne is originally from Macon, Georgia and currently resides in northern Virginia.
