Is it approaching the late spring or summer of your high school senior year and you want to find additional college money you can use to pay the tuition bills? Or are you already on the campus and you want more college funding for the next semester or quarter?

Although it can certainly help your short-term relaxation, procrastination is not a friend to anyone. For the high school senior or college student in search of college funding, especially scholarships, it is your worst enemy. Why? For many scholarships, particularly those for larger amounts of money, the deadlines occur early each academic year. So as springtime approaches, your biggest opportunities may have started to shrink considerably. Important Notes About Registering to Attend

To register for an account with Reston Community Center, you must be at least 18 to have an account. Students, please ask your parents or an adult to register for an account.

For parents or adults registering, make sure to register yourself AND add your student as a member of your household. Your student must meet the age requirements of 13 or older.

Although parents or adults can view the session with your student, you cannot register for the session without registering your student who meets the age requirement as part of your household.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER, MARIANNE RAGINS

In Marianne Ragins senior year of high school, she won over $400,000 in scholarships for college. As perhaps the first student ever to amass nearly half a million dollars in scholarship money, she has been featured in many publications including USA Today, People, Newsweek, Money, Essence and on the cover of Parade. She has also made hundreds of radio and television appearances on shows such as “Good Morning America,” “The Home Show,” and the “Mike & Maty Show.”

Ragins is the author of the highly successful Winning Scholarships for College: An Insider’s Guide, College Survival & Success Skills 101, and other publications. She is the president of The Scholarship Workshop and sponsor of the Leading the Future II and Ragins Braswell National Scholarships. Ragins is an experienced motivational speaker and lecturer who has traveled nationally and internationally conducting The Scholarship Workshop presentation and giving other motivational seminars and speeches.

Marianne graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from Florida A&M University and received an MBA from George Washington University. Both her degrees were entirely funded by scholarships and other free aid. Marianne is originally from Macon, Georgia and currently resides in northern Virginia.
